WINTER SPORTS
More than 50 kilometers of runs in six ski areas leave nothing to be desired to the winter sports enthusiast. At altitudes between 600 and 1.800 metres there is something for all levels as well as cross-country and sledging fans. Ice skating and ice curling are also fun outdoor activities here during the winter months.
SUMMER OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
Even without its snow covered peaks the alpine panorama has plenty to offer to visitors. Many marked hiking trails take hikers through gorges (“Klamm”) with views of waterfalls and through lush forests. But also, more adrenaline driven activities such as mountain biking and paragliding.
CULTURE
Bad Reichenhall offers a variety of cultural activities. The famous philharmonic orchestra which performs in the spa garden in the summer months. The tour of the old saltworks is a must, today part of the beautiful historic building is home to the art academy where visitors are invited to get creative themselves.
SALZBURG
The Austrian town Salzburg is only a 25 Minute car drive from Bad Reichenhall and is overseen by a grand castle on the river Salzach. The beautiful town has many palaces and architectural monuments, is the birthplace of classical wunderkind Mozart and famous for the delicious chocolate Sachertorte.
